Forest hike and traditional meal with Mazahua Indigenous people
We will meet at the Hotel Presidente Chapultepec in Polanco , where we will board transport to take us out of the city. On the way, we’ll stop at a traditional Mexican restaurant to enjoy an authentic breakfast before heading to the Mazahua community. There, we’ll embark on a guided forest hike with community members who will share their history, knowledge of medicinal plants, and cultural traditions. Afterward, we’ll learn how to cook tortillas with them and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared with ingredients harvested directly from their fields. Our food will be accompanied by delicious Agua fresca & Pulque (an ancient probiotic drink made from agave) and enjoy some Tè de Monte (wild forest herb tea).
At this time we will say our goodbyes with our wonderful hosts , board the transport and return to the city.
This experience is hosted by a professional Chef who is passionate about Mexican food & traditions, who has had a longstanding personal relationship of years with the Mazahuas of San Antonio de la Laguna and has been Co-Hosting other culinary and rural Airbb experiences for the last 3 years.
